Bio

Iranian left-footed centre-back Tafazolli joined Wycombe during the 2020/21 summer transfer window, having played the previous season with Hull City in the Championship.

Starting his career in Southampton’s youth academy in 2005, Tafazolli captained the side until he left for loan spells at Salisbury City in the National League.

After being released by the Saints in 2011, he joined Concord Rangers and Cambridge City for brief spells, helping the latter to their respective play-off finals in 2012. He then found a home at Mansfield Town where he made 118 appearances in all competitions over four years.

In 2016, Tafazolli joined Peterborough United, where he was named as both their best defender and best player in his first season with the League 1 side. He made 131 appearances for The Posh before he was released at the end of the 2018/19 season.

After leaving Peterborough, he joined Hull City for a season in the Championship, playing 19 games in all competitions.

He then joined the Chairboys in 2020, scoring two goals during the Championship season and securing his spot as a starter in the defensive line, going on to excel in League 1 the following year.
