One of four deadline day signings, Niall Huggins joined the Wanderers on loan from Sunderland in September 2025.
The 24-year-old is well known to Blues Head Coach Mike Dodds having been part of the Black Cats squad that won promotion from League One in 2022, and has amassed 29 senior appearances for the Stadium of Light side.
Previously with Leeds United, the York-born defender has four Wales under-21 caps and has also received a call-up to the senior squad.
