Bio
Matt Bloomfield made his fourth new signing of the January 2024 transfer window, capturing forward Beryly Lubala following his departure from fellow League 1 side Burton Albion.
The 26-year-old was the Brewers’ top scorer, having netted a stunning a strike against the Blues earlier this month.
Born in Congo, Beryly moved to England at a young age and developed through Birmingham City’s academy, making his first-team debut in 2018.
He moved to Crawley Town and burst onto the scene at the Sussex club with seven goals in his first nine appearances, earning a move to Blackpool the following summer.
After a loan spell with Northampton, Lubala linked up with Bloomfield during a loan spell at Colchester last season, and his six months at Burton this term yielded six goals.
He made his debut off the bench in the 3-1 win at Cheltenham and made himself an instant hero with important goals at home to Cheltenham and at Reading,
