The Chairgirls take on Portchester for a chance at lifting the League Cup in a 3pm kick off at The Rivermoor Stadium.

As the wait continues for the crowning of the Southern Region Women's Football League champions, the Chairgirls now set their sights on to the task of lifting the League Cup trophy in their final clash against AFC Portchester as they begin to wrap up their 2025/26 campaign.

The Blues' final opponents are also their league rivals of Portchester, to whom they fell to a 3-0 defeat to them on their final game of the season and in turn forcing the prolonging of promotion winners to be confirmed. Portchester took the points against the Chairgirls in both of their league meetings this season and the Wanderers will be keen to deny the Royals from making it a hat-trick of victories across their 2025/26 head-to-heads.

The Chairgirls' road to the final started out strong, with a dominating 6-0 win over Oxford City on home turf. A home walkover by AFC Varsity saw the Blues progress automatically to the quarter-finals of the competition, in which they defeated Beaconsfied Town in another 6-0 showing. A more dramatic semi-final against Winchester City Flyers saw the Flyers fight back from being 3-0 down and claim two back from the Blues - but their efforts weren't enough to secure a spot in the final, with the Chairgirls booking their place at The Rivermoor Stadium.

The Royals' route to the final two was tested in their quarter-final clash against Farnham Town, with a 3-3 draw forcing the tie to go to penalties. Portchester came out on top netting five penalties compared to Town's four, before beating Reading FC in the semis.

It's a 3pm kick off on Sunday 26th April at The Rivermoor Stadium (RG30 6AY) with tickets priced at £5 for adults and £3 for seniors and kids which can be purchased with cash or card on the day.

It's a huge day for the Chairgirls so get down to The Rivermoor to back the girls in their bid to lift the League Cup trophy.
