A dramatic twist in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup final saw Hungerford Town force the game to penalties right at the death. The Blues triumphed and took home the trophy in a thrilling penalty shootout!

Joe McCallum and Mekhi Savage both netted in the first-half for the Wanderers to give them a strong lead right up until the 88th minute, when Andrio Brandao clawed one back for the Crusaders. Jordan Rose added to the drama with a leveller right at the death, forcing the decider to go to spot kicks.

Kyle Defraine was the penalty shootout hero, denying Hungerford twice in their spot kicks. A clean sweep of conversions from the 12-yard mark for the Chairboys secured the silverware in a notable finale of the competition.

It was the Crusaders who looked the liveliest in the opening minutes of the contest. Louis McGrory was the first to threaten up front after picking up a loose ball and striking towards the target. Though his hit was a powerful one, its slight curve saw it swipe above the bar and out of play, leaving it all square in the fourth minute.

Brandao looked dangerous with a clean shot fired inside the box for Hungerford a couple of minutes after their first attack. The effort was nothing to concern Defraine between the sticks, as he collected with ease on his goalline.

Following 30 minutes of battling, it was the Chairboys who were able to find the back of the net. Forcing their way forward in attack, Savage held the ball on the left edge of the box - he was then able to tee up McCallum who did well to round the Crusaders' keeper and slot home to put the Blues up 1-0 in the 32nd minute.

Having picked up an assist minutes earlier, Savage claimed his own to double the Wanderers' lead in the 37th minute. Some lovely pressure and a quick break down the wing saw Cam Stones set up Savage whose hammered finish was unstoppable.

The Blues held the Crusaders to a two-goal deficit at the break.

A lively return from half-time saw the Chairboys look keen to add a third to their tally early on. Both Stones and Micah Olabiyi put pressure on the Hungerford back line, advancing towards the final third. Stones was the one with the ball at his feet throughout this run but once they reached the edge of the box, he squared it across to his teammate. Olabiyi took the moment to strike across goal in an attempt to find the bottom left corner, but his effort was denied by Luke Cairney who was just able to get his fingertips to the ball and tip it behind for a corner.

Some fantastic defensive work from Wycombe denied Sam Francis from getting one back for Hungerford, as his effort was cleared off the line in the 70th minute.

The beginning of the dramatic end started with Brandao, who had threatened goal earlier on in the contest, slotting the ball past Defraine in the 88th minute.

With a minimum of eight minutes of added time indicated by the fourth official, it was clear that the recently-relegated Hungerford were eager to claim something back from the battle. It was Jordan Rose - who had been the hat-trick hero of the Crusaders' impressive comeback against Reading in the semi-final - who headed home the leveller right at the death, forcing it to go to a deciding penalty shootout.

Stones was the first to step up to the spot, sending his penalty to the back of the net with a calm finish.

Hungerford captain, McGrory was the next up. He was denied by an outstanding stop from Defraine.

Olabiyi made it two-from-two for the Blues before Defraine denied the Crusaders again - another brilliant block from the young keeper to prevent Rose from making it 2-1 in the shootout.

Chris Lutonadio's 12-yard spot conversion was followed up by Francis scoring Hungerford's first of the shootout.

Savage stepped up to the spot to take the penalty that could win it for the Blues. His powerful strike found the back of the net, sparking the beginning of the jubilant celebrations for the Chairboys.

A dramatic finish to an incredible cup run saw the Wanderers lift the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup for the 29th time in history.
