Blues were denied all three points by a stoppage-time equaliser from Ethan Erhahon at Adams Park.
Dale Taylor had given the hosts a deserved lead in the first half, but City improved after the interval and salvaged a draw after a free-kick wasn't cleared.
Matt Bloomfield – taking charge of his 50th game as Wycombe manager – kept faith with the same XI that started in the 1-1 draw at Burton seven days earlier, with new loan signing Gideon Kodua taking a place alongside midweek goalscoring hero Richard Kone on the bench.
Blues began brightly, with Sam Vokes’ downward header being saved by the keeper after Kieran Sadlier initiated a lightning-fast counter-attack and worked the ball wide to Garath McCleary.
Luke Leahy then curled a free-kick over the bar following a foul by Dale Taylor, before Lincoln’s first chance arrived with a snapshot from Lasse Sorensen 20 yards out, but Max Stryjek was equal to it.
A succession of fouls and turnovers of possession led to a quieter period of the half, but the deadlock came courtesy of Jack Grimmer’s superb excellent deep cross, which was nodded back into danger by Sam Vokes. Dale Taylor headed goalwards and despite the best efforts of a defender on the line, who used an arm to beat the ball away, the linesman adjudged it had already crossed the line and the goal was given.
Wanderers were now full of confidence and playing some stylish football in the final third, but weren’t able to break through a steadfast backline a second time, and the Imps almost levelled on 45 minutes only for Dylan Duffy’s excellent strike to come back off the inside of the post and stay out.
Kieran Sadlier flashed an effort just over the bar inside 30 seconds of the restart, before City threatened with an inviting cross that debutant Joe Taylor could only bundle wide under pressure from Joe Low.
Back came Wycombe, hunting a second, with Vokes heading just over from Leahy’s corner on the hour-mark, before the Imps threatened on the hour with a blocked free-kick and Joe Taylor’s miscued effort from the edge of the area, ahead of a double change in which they introduced Ted Bishop and Reeco Hackett from the bench.
There was a scare when City had a goal disallowed on 70 minutes, with a flicked header from a corner at the near post looped in but the linesman adjudged that the attacker on the line – who was impeding a defender – was in an offside position.
Then Wycombe went up the other end and nearly made it 2-0, only for Vokes to head over after shrugging off his marker to meet Sadlier’s cross.
Sadlier made way for Killian Phillips soon after, and Hackett went close to an equaliser on 80 minutes, being sent 1-v-1 against Grimmer and firing wide of the near post via a deflection.
Richard Kone came on for his EFL debut on 80 minutes alongside Kane Vincent-Young as Vokes and McCleary were replaced, but Lincoln continued to threaten and Freddie Potts blocked a goalbound effort after a corner was half-cleared.
Chris Forino came on for Dale Taylor – who’d collected a knock – in time for six minutes of injury time, and saw Max Stryjek pull off a flying save to thwart Jack Moylan’s rocket that looked destined for the top corner.
Lincoln kept pushing and got their reward with almost the last kick as Ethan Erhahon looped an effort into the far corner after Blues couldn’t clear a deep free-kick.
