Wycombe Wanderers have made their first new signing of the summer, bringing highly-rated 20-year-old Jasper Pattenden to Adams Park.
The creative midfielder caught the eye of development squad coach Sam Grace during a trial period at the end of last season, and makes a permanent move from non-league Worthing, who won the Isthmian League Premier Division title under the guidance of manager Adam Hinshelwood, a former Wycombe player.
Pattenden, a former Brighton & Hove Albion youth product, was Worthing’s Young Player of the Year last season, having risen to prominence in their academy and featuring prominently in their title-winning season last term, scoring their 100th and final goal of the campaign on the final day, being tracked by a number of clubs throughout the year.
Under the terms of the transfer, Wanderers will send an XI to play a friendly at Worthing on Tuesday 2nd August, kicking off at 7.45pm.
